This is an extremely good question. By good, I mean that there are a LOT of ways to answer it, and any which response could be right. In a lot of ways, it’s like asking, “Who is the best quarterback of all time?” Into the debate go facts and opinions, stats and feelings. If you ask our guide staff, there’s a good chance you’ll get a host of answers. Each angler is going to have their preferences based upon a wide variety of variables including (but not limited to) price, warranty, craftsmanship, performance, country of manufacture, weight, loyalty, looks, and so on.

Whether you’re in the market for a new rod or not, it’s a fascinating read.
In the end, we’ll all have our favorites, and it may be truly impossible to crown any one rod, the winner. After all, isn’t that a good thing? With so many awesome rods out there, we each have all the more reasons to head to the fly shop and pick up our own next favorite!
