5280 Angler was honored to be among the select guides and outfitters invited to attend Rainbow Falls Mountain Trout: Opening Day 2016! A late March snowstorm set the stage for a winter wonderland at one of the Front Range’s most unique fly fishing destinations. Talking trout with members and fellow guides while waiting for temps to warm, we enjoyed  morning coffee and doughnuts ’round the fire. Then, it was time to hit the water. The trout forgot the forecast, readily taking our egg-midge combo patterns all morning.

We caught quality fish after quality fish until it was time for a delish chilli and hot dog lunch, provided by Richard and the outstanding team at Rainbow Falls. After lunch, the action picked up right where it left off, leaving all of us guests, as well as the members with smiles brimming across our rosy cheeks.

The 101 acre private ranch offers anglers both stillwater and stream fly fishing. This property offers consistent opportunities for trophy fish and double digit fish counts. It’s truly a one of a kind fishing property, perfect for experienced anglers, novices, young, old, individuals, and groups. The facilities are as fantastic as the fishing!
