Cole is originally from Wisconsin and grew up fishing any lake, river, or creek he could find. Early on he developed an affinity for catching trout on a fly rod, and followed his dream of being a fly fishing guide to Colorado. Guiding is Cole’s passion, and he takes a special pride in helping new anglers put their first fish in the net. Cole is an excellent instructor and his methodical approach appeals to beginners and experienced anglers alike.
Polarized sunglasses –not only do they help you see fish, but you can recognize underwater structure, depth changes, etc.
Reliable rain gear/waders – being comfortable means a more enjoyable experience and more time on the water.
ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE YOUR FISHING STYLE
Laidback – I fish because it’s fun!
Chasing big browns in the pristine waters of New Zealand
San Juan worm, Pat’s rubber legs, hare’s ear, or foam-back emerger. The more I fly fish, the more I learn that presentation beats fly selection.
WHEN NOT FISHING
I work as an accountant in the winter, which takes up most of my time in the off season. Otherwise, I’m usually backpacking, camping, or hunting when not on the water.
FAVORITE STREAMSIDE SNACK
75% of my diet while fishing is trail mix.
