There isn’t much more fun than landing a huge fish on a fixed line Tenkara rod. It takes a unique set of skills, agility and determination. Even most conventional anglers only have a few opportunities to land the trout of their dreams, but we’re going to offer anglers this opportunity and do it with Tenkara!
5280 Angler and Zen Fly Fishing are proud to be partnering for our BIG FISH Tenkara Clinic at famous Long Meadow Ranch, Saturday, May 19th from 10:00 – 6:00. Long Meadow is nearly 2.0 miles of phenomenal private river trout fishing on the North Fork of the South Platte in the town of Shawnee, CO. This property is known for producing some of the largest trout in the state including Browns, Rainbows, Cutbows and the occasional Brookie, Cutthroat and Tiger Trout. It’s not uncommon to hook multiple 5+lb fish in a day with opportunities at trout pushing 10 lbs!
The day will consist of an instructional clinic in the morning led by Karin Miller of Zen Tenkara followed by a guided trip with 5280. Karin will instruct anglers in techniques to manage and land large fish on Tenkara. Karin has used these techniques successfully to land trout, carp, salmon, bone fish, shark and other large fish species. Anglers will then take these techniques to the river and apply what they’ve learned on one of the best big fish properties in in the state.
